What we do
Re-roofs are what we do most, along with everything that goes with a roof: flat roofs, roofline, leadwork and windows.
Our main job
Flat roofs
Firestone EPDM rubber on a new deck. One seamless sheet, no more patching felt.
Fascias and gutters
Rotten timber and leaking gutters replaced in low-maintenance PVC.
Cladding
Dormer cheeks and gables clad in PVC, so there's nothing left to paint.
Leadwork
Flashings, valleys and abutments dressed in lead where roofs meet walls.
Velux installation
New roof windows fitted and flashed, often while the roof is open for a re-roof.
Chimney removal
Unused chimneys taken down and the roof tiled over, so there's one less thing to leak.

A re-roof, start to finish
A typical 60 to 80 m² re-roof takes us two days, with scaffold up before we start and the site cleared when we leave.
Our record so far: a 50 m² roof stripped, reboarded, strapped and tiled in six hours.
Strip
Old tiles, battens and felt come off, and the roof timbers are checked and repaired.
Membrane and battens
Breathable membrane and new treated battens go on, then the tiles are loaded out ready to lay.
Tiles and ridge
Tiles laid and hips and ridges dry-fixed with mechanical clips, so there's no mortar to crack and wash out.

LOMA is run by Eddie Louden, who leads a team of five roofers working across Glasgow and Ayrshire. When you call, you speak to the person who'll price the job and be on your roof.
Most of our work is full re-roofs. We strip the old roof, check the timbers, then put on new breathable membrane, battens and tiles, with the ridges dry-fixed so there's no mortar to wash out. On a typical house that takes two days, and we leave the site as tidy as we found it.
We also take care of everything that goes with a roof: rubber flat roofs, fascias and gutters, cladding, leadwork and Velux windows.
